Law Enforcement

  • Emory Police Department (EPD): (404) 727-6111 or 9-1-1: EPD can make referrals to campus and community support resources and can investigate sexual misconduct to determine if criminal charges are warranted.  Calling EPD (or another law enforcement agency) does not require that a person impacted by sexual misconduct press charges.

Office of Respect: 24/7 crisis hotline, (470) 270-5360.  Provides services for those impacted by sexual misconduct.  Emory students can call the hotline anytime to speak with someone and know more about their rights and options for resources and support, such as medical accompaniment and advocacy. The Office of Respect Advocate will speak with you confidentially, but is mandated to provide information about the incident, without providing names of individuals involved, to the Emory Police Department and Title IX Coordinator.  A detailed explanation of disclosure obligations may be obtained from the Office of Respect.

Day League (formerly known as the DeKalb Rape Crisis Center): 24/7 crisis hotline, (404) 377-1428. Has Sexual Assault Victim Advocates on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; advocates can provide short-term crisis advocacy (including emergency medical and police accompaniment). The Day League has a referral process for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) forensic medical examinations, please call (770) 438-4532 (available 24/7) for information on obtaining one.

Campus Life Professional On-Call (CLP): Every night, a designated CLP is available to assist you in the event of an emergency.  To reach the CLP, contact your Residence Advisor On-Call or EPD [911 or (404) 727-6111]. The CLP can provide after-hours administrative assistance such as relocating students within on-campus housing and requesting the issuance of no contact orders.

Student Intervention Services (SIS):  (404) 430-1120 or sisteam@emory.edu. This group consists of trained professionals who can assist students in crisis.

Emory HelpLine (HL): (404) 727-4357 [HELP].  HL is a confidential, peer support telephone hotline that serves the Emory community. It is open from 8:30 PM-1:00 AM ET, 7 days per week during the regular academic year and closes for all major student holidays.
